Short answer: a sales workspace is a place where the things around a deal sit next to the deal. The playbook, the call notes, the task to follow up, the file the buyer sent and the conversation with the person all link to the same record. You do not need a general office suite for that. You do need the pieces to point at each other.
The scattered version
A small team usually ends up with a pattern like this. Leads in a spreadsheet. Notes in a document tool. Tasks in another app or in someone's head. Chat in a fourth place. Files in a drive. Each tool is fine. The trouble is the seams: when a buyer replies, nothing connects the reply to the note that explains why you wrote, the task that says what to do next, or the file you promised to send.
A sales workspace does not remove the work. It removes the hunting. The question 'where did we say that?' has one place to look.
What belongs in it
- People, Companies and Deals. The records the rest hangs from.
- Docs. Playbooks, ICP notes, pricing rules, answers to common questions, briefs.
- Tasks. What someone must do, by when, linked to the record it concerns.
- Messages. Team channels and direct messages, for discussion that does not belong in a customer thread.
- Files. What buyers and teammates send or you upload, searchable.
- Canvas. A board for planning: a campaign, a content month, an account plan.
- Memory. Short notes the AI remembers for your team and for you.
How each piece works in GrowPython
People, Companies and Deals
The CRM has People, Companies and Deals as tabs. A person's record carries a timeline of what happened: connection requests sent and accepted, messages sent and received, emails, meetings. Records can hold custom properties, tags and saved views, and duplicate people can be merged. Deals sit on a board. This is the CRM and Inbox module.
Docs
Docs is a tree on the left and one document on the right. Several people can edit the same doc at once and see who else is in it. You can write a doc or import a procedure from a PDF, a Word file, Markdown or a text file up to 20 MB, or from a public link. A doc is internal by default: it guides the AI but is never quoted to a lead. Only an admin or owner can mark a doc as shareable so the reply and booking AI may quote it.
Tasks
Tasks come as a list or a board, with filters, comments and an activity log. A task can link to the lead, campaign, conversation or doc it is about, and you can mention a teammate to bring them in.
Messages, Files and Canvas
Messages holds channels and direct messages with threads. Files has folders, drag and drop upload, a preview and a search box that also matches text inside PDFs, documents and spreadsheets. Canvas is a board where you can lay out cards that point at real records.
Memory and the Company Brain
Memory holds short notes that the agent remembers and says which one it used. Together with your Business profile and your docs, it forms the Company Brain, the shared description that the Copilot, the reply bot, the booking bot and the content tools read. You choose which AI may read which doc. A doc with no AI job is read by no AI.
Why linking matters more than features
Each of these has a standalone competitor that is deeper in its own area. The value of putting them in one workspace is the links. A reply in the Inbox can turn into a task. A meeting note can propose a task and a CRM update, which you approve. A task can point at a doc. A doc can be the playbook your reply bot draws on. When the pieces reference each other, you stop copying text between tabs.
It also helps the AI. A copilot that can read your docs, tasks and conversations can answer 'what should I do next?' from your actual state. See what an AI sales copilot should and should not do for how we keep that safe.
A small team setup
- Write three docs: who you sell to, how you sell, and what you never say. Mark none of them shareable yet.
- Fill in the Business profile from those docs so the AI helpers read the same facts.
- Make one task list for follow-ups, and link each task to its person.
- Create one channel for the team's outreach and keep customer-specific talk on the records.
- Use a Canvas board once a month to plan the next campaign or content run.
- Run a Brain check from time to time. It compares your messages, campaigns, bot, content setup and calendar against your Business profile and procedures, lists disagreements and proposes fixes. Nothing changes until you confirm.
Where a general suite is still the better choice
This is a sales workspace, not a general suite. It is shaped around leads, campaigns, conversations and meetings. If you need a company wiki for engineering, a project tracker with dozens of custom views, long-form publishing, or a database tool that models anything, a dedicated tool such as Notion is built for that. Our page GrowPython and Notion sets out the differences in neutral terms, with sources.
Some things are also not here yet. The mobile app is built but not in the app stores. Google Calendar sync for booking is being enabled and is not live. And if you rely on the workspace for team chat, remember that Messages is built around outreach work, not as a company-wide chat replacement.
Where it fits
See pricing for the current price per seat. If you run a small agency, how an agency can set up a client acquisition system in a week shows where the workspace pieces fit. For the full module, see the workspace page.
Questions
- What is a sales workspace?
- A shared place where the records and notes around deals sit together: people, companies, deals, docs, tasks, files and messages, linked to each other.
- Does GrowPython replace Notion?
- Not for general use. It covers docs, tasks and a CRM for sales work. If you need a general wiki or database tool, a dedicated product is deeper.
- Can several people edit a doc at once?
- Yes. Docs supports live editing with presence, so teammates see each other while they type.
- Does the AI read all my docs?
- Only the docs you give an AI job. A doc with no AI job is read by no AI, and a doc is internal by default, never quoted to a lead.
